New Orleans Saints cornerback Keenan Lewis suffered a lower body injury during yesterday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers and – despite originally being ruled out for the remainder of the game – returned to action to finish out the contest.

It’s not too often you see a player override the medical ruling of his own team, but – according to Saints reporter Ramon Antonio Vargas – Lewis was able to convince the NOLA coaching staff to let him return to the game. Pretty incredible, especially when you see what Lewis’ knee looked like after the game.
Yep, that doesn’t look like a knee at all.
Lewis had an MRI following the game and said that if he can walk, he can go for next Sunday’s game against the Bengals. For better or for worse, the guy is a warrior.
