So much for the rumors that Doug Marrone had another head coaching job in his back pocket. Marrone opted out of his Bills contract and many assumed he was in contact with another team seeking to fill their head coaching vacancy, namely the New York Jets. The Jets filled the job, as did a slew of other teams and Doug Marrone’s name began disappearing from the headline rumors.
Although it’s impossible to know why he actually left Buffalo and if he believed there was another job waiting for him, he has now found employment. Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley hired the former Syracuse coach to be his Offensive Line/Assistant Head Coach to end one of the more bizarre few weeks of rumors in memory.
