Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, shocked the world on Tuesday night when she endorsed Democratic presidential candidate, current Vice President Kamala Harris.
“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election,” Swift said in part before directing her legions of adoring fans to vote.org.
The news undoubtedly stung the Trump campaign as Swift is one of the most popular and recognized women in the world.
Asked about the endorsement during a Wednesday appearance on Fox & Friends, Trump quickly pivoted to praising Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
“I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better if you want to know the truth. She’s a big Trump fan,” Trump told the hosts. “I like Brittany. I think Brittany’s great.”
Brittany Mahomes has earned headlines in recent weeks when she “liked” a positive Donald Trump post on Instagram. Her NFL husband, however, recently declined to endorse either candidate in the presidential race, saying he must work with men from all political backgrounds in his profession.
What the seeming differences in political opinions will do to the new friendship of Swift and Brittany Mahomes remains to be seen.
