Cincinnati Bengals superstar wide receiver Tee Higgins is set to become a free agent this offseason. And while he’s made it clear that re-signing with the Bengals will be his top choice if it turns out to be a possibility, it sounds like another AFC North team is already recruiting him.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson may not have played with Tee Higgins in college, missing him by a year, but they are familiar with each other as Clemson Tigers alums. And he’s already recruiting Higgins to the Browns this offseason.
“We wanna pass the ball,” Watson said according to Patrick Andres of SI.com. “That’s what we’re gonna do. We’re gonna pass the ball a lot.”
It’s not clear whether or not the Browns as an organization are planning to pursue Higgins, but Watons seems to have made his mind up.
“We’re gonna take good care of you,” Watson said. “The Cleveland fans are gonna love you to death. We got the Clemson ties. We ain’t get to play with each other, but this is our opportunity.”
Higgins is expected to be the top free agent wide receiver on the market this offseason. We’ll have to see where he ultimately lands.
