Quarterback Deshaun Watson has played just six games in each of his two seasons with the Cleveland Browns as he’s dealt with a number of injuries throughout as well as a lengthy suspension in his first season. So as he heads into his third season with the Browns, it sounds like the biggest thing will just be keeping him on the field.
During a recent press conference, Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry was asked what gives him confidence about Deshaun Watson’s ability to play at a high level, and he made it pretty clear that the only real concern he has with Watson is keeping him available and on the field.
“I think it’s just seeing him every day,” Berry said according to Pro Football Talk. “Seeing how he prepares, seeing how he works in practice. Seeing how he relates to his coaches. I think our biggest focus with Deshaun is just making sure that he’s available. I think the rest will take care of itself.”
Watson signed a massive fully-guaranteed contract with the Browns before the start of the 2022 season. Teh team will obviously be looking for him to live up to that contract this upcoming season.
