New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr left Monday night’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs after suffering an oblique injury. And he spoke a little bit about that injury after the game.
During his postgame press conference, Derek Carr opened up a little bit about how he was feeling as he indicated that he wanted to come back into the game, but he just couldn’t do it.
“Not good, but we’ll get an MRI and all that tomorrow and figure it out,” Carr said after the game according to Pro Football Talk. “I would’ve done anything to stay out there and keep fighting, but I couldn’t.”
Carr did not have much specifics to share about his injury or his status for next week’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
However, Carr did explain that he wasn’t necessarily in pain, he just couldn’t physically throw a football, either.
“I just don’t know yet,” Carr said.
“It wasn’t like a pain thing, it wasn’t like dealing with pain, if you can deal with the pain you can go. I just literally can’t do what I want to do. Obviously, it’s fresh and it just happened. You know me, I’m going to do anything I can to make sure I’m there on Sunday.”
We’ll have to see what further testing determines for Carr.
