The Houston Texans suffered a tough 27-19 loss to the Kanas City Chiefs on Saturday. Early in the game, the Texans’ offense seemed to be clicking with quarterback C.J. Stroud appearing to have found the connection with star wide receiver Tank Dell that earned him offensive rookie of the year last season.

However, things took a turn after a 30-yard touchdown pass to Dell. Although Dell secured the score, he immediately held his knee and writhed in pain in the endzone.

On Monday, Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed the extent of the injury.

“Texans HC DeMeco Ryans told reporters that Tank Dell dislocated his knee, tore his ACL and suffered other damage. Dell will undergo surgery and miss this season,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Fans reacted to the horrible news on social media.

“Has had almost every major leg injury possible in 2 seasons smh praying for him,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“If he dislocated his knee and not just the patella, he tore more than just the ACL. Hope modern medicine can fix him up right,” one fan added.

“Tough break for Tank Dell—wishing him a speedy recovery. DeMeco Ryans’ team will need to adjust, but they’ll keep fighting,” another fan added.

“That’s a major injury. Hopefully he makes it back full strength for next year,” added another fan.

“This injury will test the team’s depth and resilience moving forward,” one fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Texans adjust without such an important piece of their offense.
