It’s hard to argue there’s a more polarizing figure in football these days. The moment he stepped foot on campus, Sanders turned the Colorado Buffaloes into appointment-viewing television.
Sanders completely transformed one of the worst programs in the country into a playoff contender in only two years. Sanders’ massive success with the Buffaloes, coupled with his sons, Shedeur and Shilo, departing the program, has many wondering if the legendary figure is contemplating the next step in his career.
Many think he has his eyes set on a role in the NFL.
Sanders recently appeared on Good Morning America and was candid about his thoughts on taking the next step to the professional level. In what should come as no surprise to no one, Sanders has very specific terms that would need to be met.
Sanders revealed that he is “99 percent sure” that he won’t have another opportunity to coach his sons, but that the chance to do so again is the one thing that could bring him to an NFL sideline.
“You know what? The only way I would consider it is to coach my sons,” Sanders said, emphasizing that it would have to be an opportunity where he could coach both Shedeur and Shilo. This comes as a surprise as Shilo isn’t widely regarded as an NFL-caliber prospect.
Sanders then emphasized his contentedness with what he’s building at Colorado. “I love Colorado. I love everything we’re building I love what we’re doing, and I love Boulder, Colorado.”
It’ll be interesting to see if Sanders changes his mind.
