Every NFL career has to come to an end eventually. Rarely stars can leave the game on their own terms, for others their bodies force them to call it quits after their production drops.
For New York Jets wide receiver Davante Adams, his best days may be behind him. Adams orchestrated a trade to the Jets from the Las Vegas Raiders after the Raiders struggled and Adams failed to produce at a high level to start the season.
Now, it’s looking like the Raiders might not have been the problem. The Jets fell to 2-6 after losing to the New England Patriots on Sunday, and some stats were shared to Twitter from the game that showed Adams might not have enough gas left in the tank to compete against younger stars.
“Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez vs Davante Adams: 4 Targets 0 Catches 0 Yards,” a Patriots fan shared, highlighting Adams’ poor performance against the Patriots’ young cornerback.

Fans reacted to the shocking stats online.
“Can we just sign him to a lifetime contract already,” one Patriots fan said on Twitter of Gonzalez.
“We will have both sides locked down with Travis hunter,” one fan added, hoping to draft the current Heisman trophy favorite.
“He was projected top 10 in the 2023 draft, it’s no surprise he should be an elite corner,” one fan added.
“Patriot fans love gassing him like Diggs didn’t just cook him The truth is Rodgers is cashed and people just need to admit it,” one fan added.
If this really is the end, Adams still had a great career.
