Over the offseason, the free agent decision of Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook became one of the biggest storylines in the NFL after he was rather unceremoniously released from the Minnesota Vikings. Cook ultimately chose to sign with the New York Jets, joining Aaron Rodgers in New York, but it seems like he might now be regretting that decision a bit.

According to a report from ESPN, Dalvin Cook is frustrated with having a limited roll in the New York Jets offense and is exploring the possibility of a trade before the upcoming trade deadline.

“Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook, admitting he’s frustrated in a reduced role with the New York Jets, said Thursday he will speak to his agent and general manager Joe Douglas about the possibility of a trade,” Rich Chimini wrote for ESPN on Thursday.

This news comes after Cook had just three carries for 12 yards during the New York Jets most recent game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Cook said he didn’t have specific expectations of how many carries he would receive compared to fellow running back Breece Hall, but he did expect more than he’s received.

“We all thought it was going to be more than what it is,” he said. “But I wasn’t thinking of a percentage of him getting the ball or me getting the ball. I wasn’t thinking like that. I just thought … the touches will get spread around.”

Cook did make it clear that while he isn’t necessarily demanding a trade, he just wants “best for everybody,” and that could include a trade.

Regardless, the possibility of a trade certainly got the NFL world talking.
