Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescott is currently facing a sexual assault claim from an alleged incident that happened back in February 2017. And while it’s common for those accused of crimes like this to remain silent and not speak too much about the legal battle, Prescott is taking a slightly different approach.
Not only has Dak Prescott responded to the claim by filing an extortion claim against the accuser, but he also gave a pretty firm statement on the allegations in the media this week.
“I know the truth,” Prescott said at the Texas Children’s Cancer Fund Gala according to Jon Machota of The Athletic. “I’m confident in what we filed. Very confident in what we filed. I know some things have changed in their sense in where they filed, but that doesn’t have any weighing on what we’re doing and how we’re going about our lawsuit.”
Prescott responded to the claim by suing for extortion, which could possibly waive the statute of limitations defense that would have prevented the sexual assault claim in the first place. But it sounds like Prescott is confident in their legal moves and how he expects the whole process to play out.
