Denver Broncos fans might have had some trepidation about wide receiver Courtland Sutton’s status with the team. On Thursday, some much-needed assurance came around.

Sutton, the seventh-year man out of SMU, had been the subject of potential trade talks like his now former teammate Jerry Jeudy. While his status long-term might still be a bit uncertain, in the short-term Broncos fans can expect him back very soon.

Veteran Denver reporter Mike Klis he “will be there” at the team’s mandatory minicamp next week. He told the DNVR outlet during an interview held on Thursday.

In 2019, Sutton made the Pro Bowl in what’s been his most successful season yet. That year, he recorded 72 receptions, 1,112 yards, and six touchdowns. Sutton has totaled 298 receptions, 4,259 yards, and 24 career touchdowns since 2018. Last season, he recorded 59 receptions, 772 yards, and an impressive ten touchdowns. His ten TDs were a career-best, eclipsing the six he posted in his Pro Bowl year in 2019.

Since he arrived in Denver, Sutton, like others, has dealt with up-and-down quarterback play. He’ll have another new quarterback next season after the team got rid of Russell Wilson this offseason. The team drafted Bo Nix in the first round, so a new era is dawning in Denver. For now, that new era will include Courtland Sutton.

Broncos fans were relieved to hear the news.
