Colin Kaepernick

Colin Kaepernick held his weekly press conference on Wednesday and the 49ers quarterback was in rare form.

Kaepernick, usually a man of few words, apparently really didn’t feel like saying much to the press. With a bad loss against Seattle in his rearview mirror and a sure-to-be-unnecessarily heated game against the Raiders ahead, Kaepernick’s lack of levity is understandable.

Still.

Just look at this transcript of Kaepernick’s entire Wednesday press conference. It is positively Belichickian.

Per Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area:

How is the team bouncing back right now? Where’s the focus?
”The Raiders.”

What about you personally?
”The Raiders.”

What do you see in the Raiders, as far as what they bring to the table?
”They’re a good team.”

When you went back and looked at tape of the Seattle game, what struck you about the offense?
”We didn’t play well.”

Why?
”Didn’t execute.”

Any explanation why you didn’t execute?
”We didn’t play well.”

Was it mostly you guys or what Seattle was doing?
”It was us.”

Growing up in this region, could you share with us if you followed this 49ers-Raiders rivalry?
”I was a Packers fan.”

You almost became a Raider during the draft. How many times did you visit?
”Once.”

Did you meet with Al Davis back then?
”Hue (Jackson).”

What kind of vibe did you get from Hue?
”Good one.”

Did you work out at the facility?
”No.”

Did Thursday’s loss take a toll on the team’s confidence?
”No.”

Why?
”We know what we have to do. We played bad.”

When you have a game like that, is it one of those things you just can’t wait for the next game?
”Yes.”

How are you able to compartmentalize all the outside drama, rumors and stories about Coach Harbaugh potentially not being here next year? Not only that, but whether it’s the Raiders, Michigan, etc., how are you able to keep that out of your heads?
”Don’t pay attention.”

Is that hard? You guys are human.
”No.”

What do you think about the rumors that are surrounding Harbaugh?
”Look at his resume. You’ll get your answer.”

Do you want him to be your head coach next year?
”Yes.”

What are you looking forward to on Sunday?
”Winning.

Are you curious to see what the Black Hole is like?
”Been there before.”

When?
”Punt, pass and kick.”

How did you fare?
”Second and third.”

What category?
”Two different years.”

Is Vernon Davis physically OK? What’s going on with him and why hasn’t he been a bigger part of the offense?
”He’s physically fine.”

Can you put your finger on why his numbers are dramatically down?
”Can’t tell you.”

No idea?
”No.”

The best part has to be when some poor reporter tries to see if he can get ANY usable quote by asking about Kaepernick’s experience at the Punt, Pass and Kick competition and Kaepernick treats it like he’s being asked about Jim Harbaugh’s job status.

The brevity of Kaep’s responses did not escape the attention of 49ers beat reporters, who were just a tad bit salty afterwards.

Sigh, Kaep can’t even beat Lynch in press conference disdain.
