For the past seven years, former NFL star quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been trying to get back into the league but has not received an offer from a team following his 2016 national anthem protests. It’s led many to speculate that Kaepernick might consider playing in the XFL instead, to try to prove himself to NFL teams. But it doesn’t sound like that’s going to happen.
In a recent comment on Instagram, a fan suggested that Colin Kaepernick should consider playing in the XFL “to prove that he still can” while he continues to seek another opportunity in the NFL. But XFL owner Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson seemed to shut down that idea.
Johnson replied to the fan’s comment, saying that although the XFL has been in contact with Kaepernick and his agent, he does not think that Kaepernick will join the league.

“We met with Kap and his agents (whom I like a lot) earlier this year. Good meeting, looked to create an opportunity for him but I don’t think it’ll happen. We’ll see,” Dwayne Johnson said in a comment.
Kaepernick has not played a snap of competitive football since the 2016 season but continues to try to seek an opportunity in the NFL. The longer it goes without him playing football, the more unlikely his future looks.
