Former San Francisco 49ers star quarterback Colin Kaepernick has not played in the NFL since the 2016 season after he was unable to find a new team following his controversial national anthem protests. But even though it’s been seven years since he last played, he is still not giving up hope that he could make the league once again – much to the displeasure of many fans.

During a recent interview with Sky Sports, Colin Kaepernick announced that he is continuing his attempts to return to the NFL.

“We’re still training, still pushing,” Kaepernick told Sky Sports. “So hopefully. We’ve just got to get one of these team owners to open up.”

Kaepernick made it clear that it would mean a lot to him if he was to return to the NFL.

“I mean, it’s something I’ve trained my whole life for,” Kaepernick said. “So to be able to step back on the field would be a major moment, a major accomplishment for me. Also, I think it’s something that I could bring a lot to a team and help them win a championship.”

This announcement from Kaepernick, however, sparked outrage from many people who simply do not think the quarterback has any realistic shot at making the league after so long.

Needless to say, people are not happy about Kaepernick’s announcement.
