Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb suffered a devastating knee injury last season that required surgery and a lengthy rehab process. The injury and his contract situation seemed to put his potential return to the team in question, but it doesn’t sound like it was ever a question for Chubb or the Browns.

Nick Chubb and the team agreed to a restructured contract that kept him with the team on a lower base salary that’s full of incentives. And during a recent interview, Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry made it clear that there was no real question about whether or not the team would bring him back this season.

“I think first and foremost, when we look at any member of our organization, it’s important for us not to lose sight of the fact that we’re dealing with people,” Berry said. “And what happened to Nick last year was very unfortunate. He had no desire to be anywhere besides Cleveland. We had no desire for that to be the last snap that he would take in a Cleveland Browns jersey. And just, quite honestly, he’s the heartbeat and pulse of our team.”

Now, Chubb will have a chance to bounce back in Cleveland from the injury last season.
