Throughout the week, Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that the team was planning to play starting quarterback Deshaun Watson in their final preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks. But it seems that the Browns have actually changed their mind in that regard.
According to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Deshaun Watson will not play in Saturday night’s preseason finale against the Seattle Seahawks.
“Browns QB Deshaun Watson will not play tonight against the Seahawks, as the focus shifts to the beginning of the regular season. Watson missed time this week because of arm soreness, but did a full practice on Thursday. He’ll be ready for Week 1,” Rapoport said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Watson missed the majority of the 2023 NFL season after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury that ultimately required surgery.
Watson has not seen any preseason action this summer. It seemed like the Browns were set to change that this week with plans to play him against the Seahawks, but it looks like first game back from the injury will come at the start of the regular season on September 8 against the Cowboys.
