Aaron Rodgers Syndication: The Record

It’s not often that you hear a current NFL quarterback criticizing another active NFL quarterback, but that’s exactly what happened this week when Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud offered a pretty critical perspective when discussing future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers.

During a recent appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, C.J. Stroud offered some strong words on Aaron Rodgers as he made it clear that there are quite a few quarterbacks he would rate higher than Rodgers in terms of what they accomplished throughout their careers, including Eli Manning.

“You want the rings, dog,” Stroud said. “Eli got two.”

He went on to suggest that the treatment of teammates is paramount to success in the NFL. While he doesn’t know exactly how Rodgers treats his teammates, he knows that other guys have treated their teammates very well.

“You know what I think it is?” Stroud said according to JetsXFactor.com. “I’ve talked to Tom Brady, about this because he’s a good mentor to me. . . . What he told me is his teammates, and how he treats his teammates. And that’s where I think it falls off. We don’t know how Aaron Rodgers treats his teammates, but you can guarantee that Tom Brady treats his teammates right because of how he got those rings.”

Stroud went as far as to suggest that quarterbacks like Matthew Stafford could have had more success if they had the same supporting cast that Rodgers has enjoyed throughout his career.

“If you give Matthew Stafford a chance like Aaron Rodgers had, I guarantee you he might have had more rings,” Stroud said. “I think he would have like three or four.”

Needless to say, these comments led to a lot of reactions on social media.

Clearly, Stroud did not hold back.
