The Cincinnati Bengals were hit with some pretty horrible news on Thursday when star defensive end Trey Hendrickson requested a trade from the team due to his displeasure with his current contract situation, becoming the second player to request a trade from the Bengals this offseason after wide receiver Tee Higgins continues to seek a trade. But it doesn’t sound like the Bengals will be trading either one of them.
Following the news that Trey Hendrickson was seeking a trade from the team, Cincinnati Bengals beat writer Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic made it pretty clear that the Bengals have no interest in trading either player as the team is trying to win a Super Bowl this season.
“I can confirm Trey Hendrickson has requested a trade, as @AdamSchefter reported. I can also confirm the #Bengals have zero interest in dealing him and don’t intend to do so. Just as with Tee Higgins, they are trying to win the Super Bowl this year, not deal stars,” Dehner said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, this is a pretty firm response from the Bengals. We’ll have to see how Hendrickson and Higgins handle it.
