Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker has found himself in hot water with NFL fans after making an extremely controversial speech last weekend for the graduating class at a Kansas college. And now, many fans have taken notice of an old quote from his teammate, Patrick Mahomes that may have been warning fans about Butker’s beliefs.
For those unaware of what Butker said, he spoke about Pride Month for the LGBTQ community being a month that is “dedicated to deadly sin”. He also took aim at President Joe Biden over several issues, including his stance on abortion and how he handled the COVID-19 pandemic.
But perhaps the comment that the largest group of people took exception to from Butker was his thoughts on women. In the convocation speech, Butker stated that the female graduates in attendance, who just finished their degree has been “lied to”, suggesting that their biggest accomplishment will be in getting married and motherhood and not their future careers.
Obviously, there are millions of women across the world that have the ambition to pursue a career that may not even want to get married or be a mother to a child. And Butker implying that those qualities are somehow more important to the gender as a whole is obviously something that has led to a ton of backlash.
This has led to countless fans taking to social media to rip Butker. But also, some fans did some digging into how some of his peers, like Patrick Mahomes, view Butker. And it may not be all that favorably.
During an episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Mahomes said that he essentially has “no contact” with Butker for much of the season, despite obviously sharing a locker room and even sitting right beside each other in team meetings.
“I don’t talk to Harrison all year long man,” said Mahomes. “I just let him do his thing. We sit together in team meetings and I don’t say one word to him. Only before the season and after the season.”

Naturally, many upset with Butker have ran with this narrative, saying that even his Chiefs teammates don’t like him.
Well now we know why Pat said thisโฆ ๐ฆ๐
