Kansas City Chiefs star Harrison Butker openly voiced his opinions about the modern culture in the United States during a commencement speech at Benedictine College in Kansas. And in the process, he called out the “degenerate cultural values in media” as a way to call out the LGBTQ community.
Butker, who quite openly spoke about his Catholic faith throughout the commencement speech, minced no words when it came to the LGBTQ community, referring to LGBTQ pride month, which falls in June, as a month that he claims has a “deadly sin” dedicated to it.
“I’m certain the reporters at the AP could not have imagined that their attempt to rebuke and embarrass places and people like those here at Benedictine wouldn’t be met with anger, but instead met with excitement and pride,” Butker said. “Not the deadly sin sort of pride that has an entire month dedicated to it, but true God-centered pride that is cooperating with the Holy Ghost to glorify him.”
Butker really went down a rabbit hole when it came to the hard-hitting topics, also offering some comments about the COVID-19 pandemic and President Joe Biden. As you would likely expect, he wasn’t all that complimentary of the president.
“Our own nation is led by a man who publically and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith,” said Butker. “But at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally. He has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I’m sure to many people it appears that you can be both Catholic and pro-choice. He is not alone. From the fan behind the COVID lockdown, to the people pushing gender ideologies onto the youth of America. They all have a glaring thing in common. They are all Catholic.”
Butker clearly came to this commencement speech to voice his opinions on several different fronts. But chances are, he will likely receive a ton of backlash, if he hasn’t already, in the process…
