During Sunday’s AFC Championship game win over the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs star defensive end Charles Omenihu suffered a scare when he injured his knee in the second quarter. But even though he did not return to the game, he sure sounds confident that he’ll be able to play in the Super Bowl.
During an interview after the game, Charles Omenihu gave a pretty blunt and candid response to whether or not he thinks he will be able to play in the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers later this month.
“This is what I came here for, bro. This is exactly what I came here for,” Omenihu said in a video shared by Aaron Ladd of KSHB41. “I know I’m not done. I’m playing. I’m straight. Do I look like somebody who’s not going to play in the Super Bowl? No, I don’t. I’m good. Come on, bro.”

The good news for Omenihu is that he now has two weeks to recover from his injury before he needs to be back on the field for the Super Bowl, giving him time to rest and make sure he is as close to full health as possible.
But it is certainly good news for the Chiefs that he is so optimistic he’ll be able to play.
