Throughout his NFL career, Cam Newton was one of the most dominant dual-threat quarterbacks the league had ever seen. But even though that dominance led him to an MVP Award during the 2015 season, he doesn’t think that makes him the best dual-threat quarterback in NFL history.

During the most recent episode of his”4th and 1″ podcast, Cam Newton was asked whether or not he considers himself the best dual-threat quarterback in NFL history. But he very clearly indicated that he does not feel that way.

“No,” Newton said. “Lamar Jackson.”

Newton made it clear that Jackson has something that he never had in his career – breakaway speed.

“Well, Lamar’s style is a little different than mine,” Newton said. “He got big play [potential], any play. Yes, he got speed that I never had, and he’s just electric,” Newton said. “And then I played the game more… powerful. Yeah I can run, but I might probably get caught. [Michael] Vick, Lamar, they ain’t getting caught.”

Needless to say, these comments led to a lot of reactions from the NFL world on social media.

Obviously, Jackson and Newton each proved their dominance throughout their playing careers resulting in their respective MVP awards.
