Earlier this month, the Buffalo Bills signed veteran quarterback Ben DiNucci to add a little bit of depth behind starter Josh Allen and backup Mitchell Trubisky. However, it sounds like his time with the team was rather short-lived.

According to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Buffalo Bills decided to part ways with Ben DiNucci as they trim their roster down to the league-wide mandatory 53-man roster limit.

“Bills released QB Ben DiNucci,” Schefter said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

DiNucci joined the team earlier this month and appeared in two preseason games for the team. However, it does not seem like his performance in those games was enough to earn him a roster spot.

DiNucci entered the league back in 2020 after he was selected in the seventh round by the Dallas Cowboys. He appeared in three games for the Cowboys that year, starting one of them in replacement of Dak Prescott. He finished that season a combined 23-of-43 through the air for 219 yards.

Though he has not seen any regular season NFL action since his rookie season with the Cowboys, DiNucci did emerge as a star in the XFL during the 2023 season, leading the entire league in passing yardage.
