In a recent ESPN article ranking the top three quarterbacks in the NFL, one unnamed team executive called Buffalo Bills star quarterback Josh Allen one of “the more overrated players in the NFL.” And Bills general manager Brandon Beane was not happy about that.
During a recent press conference, Brandon Beane did not hold back as he gave his true thoughts on the criticism, saying “there are idiots everywhere.”
“It’s frustrating,” Beane said according to Ryan Talbot of New York Upstate. “You try to ignore this stuff. Josh is going into Year Seven and there’s still the naysayers. I don’t get it. If I was going to use ‘rated,’ I would say underrated before I said overrated. And I know I’m biased. He’s our guy. Love him every single day. These things that come out there.”
Allen is widely considered one of the most talented quarterbacks in the entire league even though he has not had all that much success in the postseason. But Beane clearly thinks that it would be a mistake for anybody to call him “overrated.”
We’ll have to see whether or not Allen can shut down all of this criticism this upcoming season with the Bills.
