As the Buffalo Bills trim their roster down to the league-wide mandatory 53-man limit, it sounds like the team has decided to part ways with a veteran quarterback after signing him just this month.

According to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Buffalo Bills are parting ways with veteran quarterback Ben DiNucci as they finalize their roster.

“Bills released QB Ben DiNucci,” Schefter said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

DiNucci joined the team earlier this month and appeared in two preseason games for the team, but it seems like his time with the team was shortlived.

Obviously, DiNiccui was not expected to compete for the starting spot and was always a longshot to make the roster, but his departure still led to a lot of reactions on social media.

DiNucci entered the league back in 2020 after he was selected in the seventh round by the Dallas Cowboys. He appeared in three games for the Cowboys that year, starting one of them in replacement of Dak Prescott. He finished that season a combined 23-of-43 through the air for 219 yards.

Though he has not seen any regular season NFL action since his rookie season with the Cowboys, DiNucci did emerge as a star in the XFL during the 2023 season, leading the entire league in passing yardage.
