The Carolina Panthers had high hopes for the 2023 season after trading up to select former Alabama Crimson Tide star Bryce Young with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Things didn’t turn out as hoped, but Young is not hiding from that fact.
During a recent interview, Bryce Young admitted that last season did not go the way he wanted or expected, but he hopes the team can learn from those brutal struggles last season.
“I just want to be the best version I can,” Young said according to Darin Gantt of the Carolina Panthers team website. “Obviously, we have a lot of change in the system. New coaching staff, a couple of new pieces. So, it’s going to be a great opportunity for us to grow and build together. But, I think as a team, individually, all combined, I think we learned a lot and grew a lot. Obviously, it was not the year we wanted to have last year. But, you know, you’re able to learn from those experiences.”
Young will now be heading into his second full season as a starter. We’ll have to see whether or not he looks more comfortable in his role.
