San Francisco 49ers star quarterback Brock Purdy played about as well as possible during Sunday afternoon’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In fact, in terms of his quarterback rating, it was an absolutely perfect performance from the second-year starter. And he earned a big honor as a result.

Following his strong showing against the Buccaneers on Sunday, Brock Purdy has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week by the NFL.

“Purdy was perfect on Sunday — at least in regard to his 158.3 quarterback rating. He wasn’t far off perfection elsewhere during the 49ers’ 27-14 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. The second-season signal-caller completed 21 of 25 passes (84%) for 333 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions,” Grant Gordon of NFL.com wrote as the league announced the Player of the Week awards on Wednesday afternoon.

It’s obviously a fitting honor for Purdy after what was probably the most dominant performance of his young career, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media as a result.

Purdy will look to keep this momentum going next week as he will try to lead his team to victory once again when the Niners take on the Seattle Seahawks on Thanksgiving night.
