San Francisco 49ers young star quarterback Brock Purdy led the team to the Super Bowl in just his first full season as a starter and was a legitimate MVP candidate throughout the team’s impressive run. But it seems that he is struggling mightily during training camp.
According to a report from San Francisco 49ers reporter Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group, Brock Purdy had a horrible performance to end practice on Tuesday afternoon, throwing interceptions on four of his last five passes.
“#49ers practice saw Brock Purdy intercepted on 4 of his final 5 passes. Some contested, some not,” said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, it’s just practice and mistakes happen, but it is still an eye-popping number of interceptions from the quarterback, and it understandably led to a lot of reactions on social media.

Purdy has received criticism throughout his career for being merely a game manager instead of a prolific quarterback himself.
While it is just training camp and not during a real game, performances like this are certainly not going to silence any critics.
We’ll have to see how he performs this upcoming season with the Niners.
