San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy was famously selected with the final pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. But while that might fuel and motivate some players who hold grudges against all the teams who passed over them and all the players picked before them, that’s not how Purdy lives his life.
This week, Brock Purdy was asked whether or not he holds a grudge against the teams that passed on him in the NFL Draft, but he claims that he doesn’t. He says that he believes things worked out perfectly just the way they happened.
“Honestly I’m not that kind of guy,” Purdy said according to 49ers Webzone. “I know a couple of the guys that got drafted before me but I’ve never held a grudge for it or anything. I’m a believer that God has a plan for everybody, and I fell last for a reason. I haven’t held any grudges against other teams. It all happened how it needed to, and I’m blessed to be a part of the 49ers.”
It’s certainly a measured and mature approach to take, but Purdy is clearly proving a lot of teams wrong with his play the past two seasons.
