Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes, and pop icon Taylor Swift appear to have built a close relationship thanks to their shared interest in their significant other’s careers. And now, the two may even be planning to hang out at events outside of Chiefs games.
Both Patrick and Brittany Mahomes hold an ownership stake in the Kansas City Current of the National Women’s Soccer League, a league that generally doesn’t attract all that much mainstream attention.
That could change with some influence from Taylor Swift, which appears to be a goal of both Patrick and Brittany Mahomes.
During a recent appearance on ESPN’s SportsCenter, the two spoke about potentially getting Swift to come out and attend a Current game in the near future.
“We might get her here at some point, she’s a busy woman and Travis [Kelce] is a busy guy,” Patrick Mahomes said transcribed by Bleacher Report. “So, maybe during the season or something like that we’ll get her out to a Kansas City Current game. She loves supporting Kansas City just like we do and I’m sure Brittany can nudge her and get her here pretty easily.”
“That’s definitely on me,” said Brittany Mahomes. “That’s definitely on me. I’ll work on it, I will work on it.”
Swift has done wonders in increasing the popularity of the Chiefs and the NFL as a whole this past season thanks to her appearances at Chiefs games.
And now that Brittany Mahomes and Swift appear to be becoming close friends, we could see a sudden increase in popularity in the NWSL very soon if Brittany can indeed convince her new bestie to come out to a game.
