The New York Jets are on the hunt for their next head coach after firing their last man, Robert Saleh, in the middle of the 2024 season. Interim coach Jeff Ulbrich was interviewed as a candidate but it’s unlikely he will receive the promotion after the Jets 5-12.
However, as the Jets continue to conduct interviews, there is one name that is already off the table for the organization, according to one outlet.
“49ers quarterbacks coach Brian Griese declined the Jets head coaching interview request,” reported uSTADIUM on Twitter.

“How bad is it that Brian Griese is saying no?” one fan wanted to know on Twitter.
“I’m guessing he knew he wasn’t going to be a legit candidate,” another fan added.
“Smart man. I wouldn’t want to come to this dumpster fire of an organization either,” added one disheartened Jets fan.
“No surprise. Who in their right mind would want to work for (Woody Johnson)?” another fan asked.
“When Griese was first appointed (49ers) QB coach it was a head scratcher. I stopped scratching my head by the end of that season…With this decision Griese’s brilliance continues to amaze me,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Griese reveals why he declined the interview.
