With mandatory minicamp having come and gone and training camp quickly approaching, Brandon Aiyuk’s future with the San Francisco 49ers remains in question.

Entering the final season of his rookie contract, the Arizona State product has yet to sign a long-term extension, which has led to some speculation that he could be traded ahead of the start of the 2024 campaign.

With each day that passes, the gap between Aiyuk and the 49ers seems to widen. That was the case on Monday when Aiyuk shared a video to TikTok, which showed him on a video call with Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.

“They said they don’t want me back,” Aiyuk could be heard saying in the video.

After Daniels — who played with Aiyuk at Arizona State — questioned the legitimacy of such a statement, Aiyuk replied, “I swear.”

While there isn’t much context provided in the video, many have many the leap to assuming Aiyuk was referencing his ongoing negotiations with the 49ers. Should San Francisco, in fact, opt to trade the 26-year-old wideout, there would surely be no shortage of suitors interested in acquiring the 2023 second-team All-Pro — including, potentially, Daniels’ Commanders. All eyes will remain on the Niners.
