Ahead of their Week 18 matchup, the Buffalo Bills made a move at quarterback. The Bills have signed veteran quarterback Mike White to the 53-man roster.
“We’ve signed QB Mike White from the practice squad,” the Bills announced in a post on X.
White is no stranger to the AFC East, of course. His first major stop on his NFL career was down in East Rutherford with the New York Jets, where he played from 2019 to 2022. White played in seven games with the Jets, going 2-5 in those seven appearances.
Not much will be expected of White going into Week 18. Josh Allen will play, but the NFL MVP candidate likely won’t play the entirety of the Bills’ final game of the regular season against the New England Patriots.
The Bills have already clinched the AFC East and are out of position to get the No. 1 seed from the Kansas City Chiefs, who they defeated earlier this season in Orchard Park. Not much had been expected of Buffalo this season after the team traded Stefon Diggs to Houston and let Gabriel Davis go to Jacksonville. Diggs suffered a knee injury that ended his season abruptly, and Davis and the Jaguars enjoyed another year of defeats in Duval County.
Meanwhile, Allen and Buffalo paraded through their schedule. When they were challenged, they often came out on top. Allen has committed fewer turnovers than ever along the way, which has made for his best season yet.
It could end with the NFL MVP. It could also end with the Super Bowl, which would be triumphant for the snakebitten Bills.
But there’s still much to see play out. So we’ll see how it all shakes out. For now, we have this to react to.
I don’t wanna wish for injury
But I do wish for annual Mike White going nuclear after replacing the starter https://t.co/HrFvb5YK6B
