With the New England Patriots in the middle of what looks to be their worst season yet under head coach Bill Belichick, some have begun to wonder if the team might choose to fire the six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach after the decision. One report, however, suggests that decision has already been made by team owner Robert Kraft.
According to a report from Tom Curran of NBC Sports Boston this week, Robert Kraft already made a decision to part ways with Bill Belichick after the team’s Week 10 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Frankfurt, Germany.
“When they came out of Germany, conversations I had that week made it very clear that a decision was made,” Curran said according to Boston.com. “They were going to play out the string, and at the end of the year, there would be a parting of the ways for a variety of reasons.”
Even though the Patriots have turned things around a little bit, winning last week’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Curan doesn’t think that will change anything about Kraft’s decision.
“Just because they won last week in Pittsburgh in primetime, I don’t think it quells anything,” Curan said.
Obviously, any decision like this isn’t official until it’s announced by the team, but it’s safe to say that things aren’t looking good for Belichick in New England.
