Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson had a pretty stellar rookie season as he totaled 976 rushing yards during his first season in the league. But it sounds like he has plans to top those numbers in an absolutely massive way this upcoming season.
Bijan Robinson was nearly able to reach 1,000 rushing yards during his rookie season. Next season, he wants to more than double that total.
“I want 2,000 yards rushing,” Robinson said according to Daniel Flick of Sports Illustrated. “I know those are big expectations, what we can do as an offense, with all the weapons, our O-line, with Zac being at the helm, it can be something special. I think it’s going to be one of those special seasons that Atlanta’s been waiting for us and all of us as players have been waiting for. So, let’s get it.”
If Robinson was able to do this, it would put him in some pretty rare company. In the past decade, only one running back – Derrick Henry in 2020 – has been able to surpass 2,000 rushing yards in a single season.
It’s obviously a pretty lofty goal for a player heading into just his second season in the league, but we’ll have to see if he can do it.
