Cincinnati Bengals star edge rusher Trey Hendrickson recently requested a trade from the organization after talks of a potential long-term extension stalled. This led many to assume that he may potentially hold out from the team this off-season and not participate in off-season activities. But luckily for Bengals fans, that appears to not be the case.
Hendrickson, who has made the Pro Bowl each of his three seasons in Cincinnati thus far, has remained adamant over the past few weeks that he wants to be traded. But thus far, the Bengals have not budged, even saying that they have no plans to trade him.
That presents Hendrickson with two options. Hold out and potentially force the Bengals’ hand and make them trade him. Or show up and potentially show that he is indeed worthy of the long-term contract that he desires.
It seems like Hendrickson has chosen the latter option, showing up to the team’s offseason workouts on Monday in a video shared by the team on social media.

This is obviously great news for Bengals fans. Hendrickson has grown to become one of the best pass rushers in all of football in recent years, most recently recording 17.5 sacks last season, the most of his seven-year NFL career.
Simply put, the Bengals’ success this coming season certainly hinges on Hendrickson playing a big role on their defensive line. And it seems like the two sides are potentially getting on better terms to come up with a deal to keep him around for the future.
