During the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers committed a horrible mistake that might have cost them the game, and it sounds like he is still haunted by it.
On the first play of the fourth quarter with the Ravens trailing the Chiefs by a score of 17-7, Zay Flowers lost the ball and fumbled just outside of the end zone and the Chiefs recovered, giving them the ball back and effectively taking points off the board for the Ravens. In a game that ultimately ended with a final score of 17-10, that play could have been the difference.
And during a recent press conference, Flowers admitted that the play still haunts him.
“Honestly, I still [haven’t] gotten over it,” Flowers said according to a transcript from the team. “I still think about it, but I know next year, we have a chance to get back there and try to make it to the Super Bowl, so that’s why I’m working every day and going hard every day to get back to that moment.”
Obviously, there is nothing that Flowers can do about it now, but as the team’s top returning wide receiver, it’s safe to say that he will be trying to do everything he can to make up for it this season.
