Before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury that derailed his first year as a starter, Indianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson showed off plenty of potential with his arm and his legs. But it sounds like he thinks he still has a lot more to showcase.
During a recent interview with ESPN, Anthony Richardson made it clear that he didn’t get a chance to showcase his full abilities last season, and he’s excited to do that this year, in addition to all the ways that he has grown as a player.
“People didn’t really get to see everything I could do on the field,” Richardson said according to ESPN. “So, it’s kind of like a rookie season for me still. But now I’ve gained a lot more knowledge and understanding about football and the NFL. So, I’m a rookie at heart, but now I’m slowly turning into the leader that my team needs me to be. I’m ready for every opportunity that’s in front of me.”
The Colts selected Richardson with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and made him their day-one starter. They obviously think he has a bright future ahead of him, so we’ll have to see how it shakes out.
