The College Football semifinal round kicked off on Thursday night, with the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish squaring off. Penn State and head coach James Franklin were ready to prove the critics and pundits wrong and show the nation they had what it takes to win a big game under the lights.
Unfortunately for Penn State, it wasn’t to be. A late-game interception from quarterback Drew Allar put the Fighting Irish in position to ice the game with a game-winning field goal.
It’s as if seeing their season in such brutal fashion wasn’t enough; now there’s more bad news for the Nittany Lions, per one NFL insider.
“Penn State consensus All American defensive end Abdul Carter has entered the 2025 NFL Draft and hired Drew Rosenhaus, Robert Bailey and Jason Rosenhaus to represent him. ‘I expect Abdul will be one of the top picks of this draft and a future All Pro,’ Drew Rosenhaus said,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Friday morning.

Fans reacted to the declaration on social media.
“I wish so bad he’d drop to philly. youngest defense in the league and #1 rated adding him omg I can only dream,” one Philadelphia Eagles fan wrote on Twitter.
“Good for him. And as a bonus they at least they call offensive holding and personal fouls in the NFL…unlike last night,” another fan added.
“was rooting for him to have a dominant performance against the Irish but he still played well! I pray Carolina picks him up!” one fan added.
“Wouldn’t be surprised if someone traded up to get him. Even at one. He’s elite,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see how high Carter gets drafted.
