New York Jets future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers might be 40 years old, but he can clearly still move pretty well.
During Thursday night’s dominant win over the New England Patriots, Aaron Rodgers showed off his mobility a little bit as he completed all six of his pass attempts outside of the pocket.
Rodgers also carried the ball five times for 18 yards, including a five-yard first down on the game’s first drive.
After the game, Jets head coach Robert Saleh offered his reaction to what he saw from the 40-year-old quarterback, and he certainly did not hold back his praise.
“Yeah, the cool thing was he showed the mobility that we’ve been seeing throughout training camp,” Saleh said according to Pro Football Talk.
“Like I said, he may not be what he used to be, but he still has plenty in those legs, and his arm’s still 30, and his mind’s still operating at a high level. He was definitely impressive today.”
Rodgers finished the game 27 of 35 through the air for 281 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions.
It was a dominant showing from both Rodgers and the Jets, just like they hoped to have from him when they signed him before last offseason.
We’ll have to see if he and the team can maintain this performance.
