After missing essentially all of last NFL season with an Achilles injury leading to a disappointing season for the New York Jets, star quarterback Aaron Rodgers is facing a pretty brutal situation this upcoming season as he and the team face a lot of pressure to perform. And it sounds like he is fully embracing that pressure.
During an interview last week, Aaron Rodgers addressed the brutal pressure that he is facing this upcoming season, making it clear that he understands if he does not perform and lead the team to success, he will likely be out of a job along with the team’s coaching staff.
“I think if I don’t do what I know I’m capable of doing, we’re all probably going to be out of here,” Rodgers said according to CBS Sports. “I like that kind of pressure, though. I know it’s a tough market to play in and it’s not for everybody. I relish that opportunity.”
Obviously, Rodgers did not have a chance to show what he could do for the team last year as he suffered a season-ending Achilles injury during just his fourth play with the team. We’ll have to see how he performs this season.
