Toby Gerhart Leads the AFC in Rushing
The former Heisman Trophy finalist, aka Adrian Peterson’s backup, landed an expected starting role as a free agent this offseason. The 5th-year running back has only 353 touches (276 rushing attempts) and averages nearly five yards per carry for his career.
Don’t expect the YPC average to remain near five but do expect him to get 300-325 carries in year one with Jacksonville, giving him every opportunity to gain 1,400-plus yards, a number that would’ve easily won the AFC rushing title in 2013.
