The USC head coaching job race has heated up significantly, and even this past week according to reports it seems like the Trojans are ready to pull the trigger as soon as this week. According to an ESPN report which surfaced this weekend:
Vanderbilt coach James Franklin and Boise State coach Chris Petersen are top candidates for the USC opening and the search may be completed by the middle of this week, according to sources.
And then comes Monday morning and the report from ESPN’s Brett McMurphy that Washington’s Steve Sarkisian may be in the race. Steve has history with USC (as a student and as an assistant coach multiple times), and was initially on the shortlist but had seemingly dropped off the list until today. We aren’t sure when the interview was, or any details but will let you know as they release.
Stay tuned…
