The annual NHL Winter Classic was cancelled this year as a result of the lockout, but that doesn’t mean you won’t get a chance to see some great outdoor ice hockey games. Soldier Field, home to the Chicago Bears, has been transformed into an outdoor ice rink to host the OfficeMax Hockey City Classic, where two NCAA hockey games will be played on Saturday, February 17th. The games will kick off at 12:00pm CT with a match-up between Notre Dame and Miami University of Ohio, followed by University of Minnesota vs. University of Wisconsin at 3:30pm CT. Seven high school games are scheduled for this Friday and Saturday before the college teams hit the ice the following weekend. These will be the first ever hockey games to be played at Soldier Field.
