Ole Miss DE Robert Nkemdiche recorded a touchdown reception, a blocked field goal, and three QB hits at the half against Tennessee-Martin.
And his TD was no ordinary 296-pound, DE jogging to the end zone TD. Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze decided to give him a rep on offense, and he didn’t disappoint — showing some serious athleticism and speed. He lined up at fullback, caught the ball off of a play-action fake, and went the distance for 31-yards.
This is a defensive end looking like a legitimate weapon on offense. He took his defensive duties pretty seriously too judging by how he ran through the line to block this field goal against the special teams.
Again, this is a 6’4”, 296-pound monster showing he can do just about everything on the turf except throw the ball. But it’s early in the season. Maybe coach Freeze will decide to play some sort of two-QB lineup with Nkemdiche lining up next to Chad Kelly.
