I was watching the Fiesta Bowl live and had to grab another beer as soon as I saw this happen. In all of my college football watching throughout my 38 years not once have I seen a one-point safety, and to be honest I didn;t even know it existed until Thursday night. To explain it very simply, KSU blocked an Oregon extra point, great right? Not so much if your player scoops up the blocked kick and retreats three yards back into your own end-zone and gets tackled by an Oregon player. This is what we call a one-point safety.
