After Tennessee’s dramatic win over Georgia Tech on Labor Day, you couldn’t blame a single player for feeling tired or weary after such a hard fought game. Heck, the game went all the way to the last play of the game when Tennessee stopped Georgia Tech on a two-point conversion to win 42-41.
The player who stopped the quarterback on the play, Darrell Taylor went viral last night for what he said to his teammate after making the big play. He very obviously can be seen saying “I’m not going to class.” Immediately after the game, the media asked him about the comment he made to his teammate that was caught on camera.

“I’m going to class, man,” he said. “I’m a student-athlete. I’m going to class.” That is the right answer but for any normal college student, you know if this wasn’t caught on tape, the guy wouldn’t be there.
This isn’t a slight on the student-athlete, this is a slight on the college student in general. If I had too many beers, I wouldn’t be at class the next day. Putting your body on the line and smashing it into rather large athletes at a high rate of speed, you wouldn’t see me at class either.
Let’s make sure to give Taylor a break.
