Nebraska fired head coach Bo Pelini over the weekend in a move that was far from surprising considering the growing unrest amongst Huskers fans that expect to compete for a national title every handful of years. Despite consistent success, evident by a 67-27 record over seven years, the former Oklahoma and LSU defensive coordinator finds himself unemployed. Following the athletic department’s decision to dismiss Pelini, a handful of current and former Nebraska players took to twitter to unleash their feelings of confusion, anger and sadness:
Biggest mistake you ever made…. Bo was the best coach I’ve ever had and I’ll always appreciate the things you taught me.

The leadership issues at the University of Nebraska extend above the Head Football Coach’s office.

I just hope the next head man that comes in, cares not only about winning but the development of men. Thank you Coach Bo for everything!!

Since they wanna fire Bo, ima be one of those unrealistic fans who wants to be playing for a national championship every year

Stupidest goddamn decision I’ve ever seen, heard, or been a part of.

That man has always had our backs and did anything he could do to help us. If it wasn’t for Bo a lot of us wouldn’t even be here.

Unreal. Bo believed in me and I 100% believed in him. Can’t believe this….
