The Northwestern Wildcats committed the classic defensive blunder that is the leading cause of almost all successful Hail Mary attempts, and it cost them dearly in a 30-27 loss to Nebraska on Saturday. With zeros on the clock and 49 yards of field to go, Cornhuskers quarterback Ron Kellogg III launched a bomb to the end zone that was 1) not batted down by the defense [classic blunder], 2) tipped past the last line of defense, and 3) ultimately caught for the winning score.
Good job, good effort, guys.
